Type of socket
The standard power voltage in Vietnam is 220V, and the frequency is 50Hz. If you’re from a place with different voltage and frequency standards, you may need a voltage converter to safely use your appliances in Vietnam.
If device says “100-240V, 50-60Hz”, it means that it is compatible with all voltage standards worldwide, including Vietnam. Laptops, tablets and phones usually are compatible with all voltage standards.

Emergency info
The nationwide emergency numbers in Vietnam are:
– 113 is the number of police;
– 114 is the number of fire fighting services;
– 115 is the number of ambulance/medical assistance
Exchange currency
You may exchange currency at the airport or at money exchanges in downtown Saigon. The money exchangers in the city generally give better rates, but the difference will vary depending on economic conditions.
Popular transportation
Taxis and ride-hailing services are the two most common ways for visitors to get around town.
For taxis, please stick to reputable taxi brands Mai Linh and Vinasun. Offbrand taxis are known to overcharge tourists. The most popular ride-hailing app is Grab. Other ride-hailing providers include Be and XanhSM.
You may also rent a motorbike which is the most common form of transportation for Vietnamese people.
Visas for Travelers
Passport holders from 25 countries can enter Vietnam without a visa. Visitors from other countries can apply online for an e-visa, valid for a 90-day stay duration and multiple entry.
