As a host, this is our favorite moment of the year! At midnight, the city transforms into a glowing sea of light to symbolize a fresh start and good luck. From the grand displays over the Saigon River to the local fireworks, it’s a meaningful cultural moment you won’t want to miss! Saigon River Tunnel Entrance  is the “celebrity” of firework spots when being the main high-altitude site for Lunar New Year’s Eve 2026! Due to its central position along the riverfront, this location offers unobstructed, panoramic views, making it the most popular viewing area.

  • The heart of the city’s festivities. While the view may be partially framed by high-rise buildings, the atmosphere is unmatched, featuring live countdown performances and a vibrant crowd. 

  • Best spot: River end of Nguyen Hue, near Ton Duc Thang Street

2. Bach Dang Wharf Park (Top Choice)

  • 5–10 min walk

  • The most popular public viewing area. It offers an expansive, unobstructed view across the river toward the high-altitude launch site

3.  Rooftop Bars & Lounges (Premium Experience)

  • For guests seeking a more comfortable environment away from the street-level crowds, these venues offer panoramic views!
  • Saigon Skydeck (Bitexco Financial Tower): The 49th-floor observation deck provides a 360-degree view of the entire city and the fireworks below.

  • M Bar (Hotel Majestic Saigon):  A classic riverside choice with a colonial atmosphere and a direct view of the water.

  • Chill Skybar (AB Tower): Known for its energetic nightlife, it offers one of the highest outdoor vantage points in the district

Viewing Tips for Airbnb Guests

Traffic & Movement Guide

🚫 D1 Road Closures: From 9:00 PM, major central roads (Nguyen Hue, Le Loi, Ton Duc Thang) and both Ba Son & Khanh Hoi bridges are closed to all vehicles.

🚇 Free Metro: Ride Metro Line 1 for FREE on February 16 & 17. Trains run until 2:00 AM on New Year’s Eve!

🛵 GrabBike > Cars: Traffic will be “frozen” near the river. Use a GrabBike to move faster, and walk a few blocks away toward District 3 before booking your ride home.

 

💡 Fun Fact: Enjoy the “Ghost Town” from February 17 to 19, when the city’s traffic disappears as locals celebrate at home.

This is an interesting experience walking in the middle of the street and take photos of the emtry street and popular places like Post Office or Notre Dame Cathedral without a single motorbike in sight!
