Saigon Opera House

The Saigon Opera House, a stunning architectural gem, graces the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Built in 1898 by French architect Eugene Ferret in the flamboyant style of the Third French Republic, this iconic building stands two meters above street level, its double-layered doors shielding the interior from the city’s noise.

Positioned on the city’s central axis, the Opera House connects the metro station and the roundabout before Ben Thanh Market. Its imposing facade, adorned with intricate stone carvings and statues, invites visitors into a world of elegance. Inside, crystal chandeliers illuminate the grand lobby, while the oval auditorium, with its 468 seats, offers optimal acoustics and sightlines.

Today, this national relic hosts a variety of cultural and entertainment events, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Ho Chi Minh City.
